

A native of Athens, she was born February 26, 1936 and was a daughter of the late Robert E. Eidam and Hallie Mae Kirk Eidam. Barbara loved her dogs, reading, and spending time with friends and family. She retired from the University of Georgia where she served as secretary to Dr. Charles Stewart, Dean of Social Work, for over 30 years. Barbara also earned Professional Secretary Certification and was an active member of the National Professional Secretaries Association. She was a lifelong member of Young Harris United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved sisters and brothers-in-law, Anita E. Cooper (Wade) and Elizabeth E. Hale (George Ferrell) and niece, Becky Cooper Sanders.
Survivors include niece, Judy Cooper Smith (Jack, deceased); nephews, Ron Hale (Louise), Mike Hale (Phyllis) and Harry Cooper (Mary Ann); a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service will be held Monday, September 5 at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with Rev. David Wofford officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
