Bobby was born April 30, 1933 to the late Edge B. and Vada Ballew Bridges. He was a United States Air Force veteran.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Venese Bridges; sister, Betty Cooper and a granddaughter, Karen Adkins.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Montine Hooks Bridges; two daughters, Denise Bridges and Pamela Betts; a son, Christopher Merritt; sister, Gail Covington; grandchildren, Bobby Adkins, Chad Adkins, Brett Bridges and Candace McKinney; great-grandchildren, Michael McKinney, Madison McKinney, Layla Bridges, Bowan Bridges, Brandon Bridges, Mason Bridges, Destiny Bridges and Cameron Bridges.
A gathering of family and friends for Bobby will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Bernstein Funeral Home, 3195 Atlanta Hwy., Athens. Following the a gathering of family and friends will be a graveside service at 2:30 PM at Evergreen Memorial Park, 3655 Atlanta Highway, Athens.
