Coley was born in Hartford, Alabama to the late Coley Justice, Sr. and Dorothy Edwards Justice. After high school, he joined the United States Army, retiring in 1972, after 24 years of service. During his time in the army, he was awarded the Purple Heart, in 1951 for his service in the Korean War and also served two tours of duty in the Vietnam War. He had lived in Athens since 1968. After his retirement from the Army, he worked with Van City, before becoming the owner and operator of Justice Motors from 1975 to 1989 and then went on to work with Heyward Allen for more than five years. Coley was an avid golfer and UGA Football fan and very much enjoyed going to Cherokee, North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Frances Hershey.
Mr. Justice is survived by his wife, Peggy Doss Justice of Athens; daughters, Liz Bazemore and her husband, Dwayne of Nicholson and Zoe Pelfrey and her husband, Glyn of Martin; brother, Billy Joe Justice and his wife, Sue of Athens; step-children, Tim Mackey and his wife, Cindy of Watkinsville; Clint Sloan and his wife, Debbie of Oakwood; and Cindy Riddle and her husband, John of Hartwell; seven grandchildren, Dara Davison of Athens; Amy Bryan of Seattle, WA; Kelly Sloan of Flowery Branch; Andy Sloan of Hoschton; Stephanie Parks of Danielsville; Gina Mackey of Flowery Branch and David Mackey of Athens; several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM Sunday, October 24, 2021 in the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with military honors.
