She was born and raised in Ottumwa, Iowa and later moved to Whitesboro, NY where she raised her family with her husband Jerry Long. Her later years were spent in Lawrenceville, Ga. and Athens, Ga.
She worked as an operator for the telephone company in New York and Georgia. She was a dog lover, a great friend, and wonderful mother, mother in law, grandmother and sister.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Ivah Schroeder, her husband, Jerry Long and daughter, Amy Long.
She is survived by her sister, Marcene Leonard of Pasadena, Maryland; daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Wes McCausland, of Athens; and two granddaughters, Shannon McCausland (Juan) of Salt Lake City, Utah and Jordan Martin (Jonathan) of Decatur, Ga.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 25, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the residence of Melinda and Wes McCausland, in Athens.
