She was born on January 10, 1951, to the late Horace Jack Whitman and Nora Elizabeth Hughes Mason. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kim Joy Taylor.
She is survived by her daughter, Amy E. Martin; her brother, James Mason; her sisters, Melody Carey and Yvonne Smith; and five grandchildren—Kory Powell, William Martin, Elisabeth Martin, Kristin Powell, and Court Powell.
Known to her grandchildren as “Mimi,” Paulette found her greatest joy in being with them. She loved golfing, playing card games with her grandchildren, and proudly watching her grandson play basketball. Her home was always open, her support unwavering, and her love constant. Selfless and kind, Mimi created a place where her grandchildren felt safe, cherished, and deeply loved. They are truly blessed to have had her in their lives.
Paulette was loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed. She will be laid to rest in her hometown of Athens, Georgia, at Oconee Hill Cemetery.
Bernstein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
