Faye Cochran Pledger

Faye was born in Center, Georgia to the late Lewis Young Cochran, Sr. and Ruby Ayers Cochran. She was retired from the Georgia Power Company where she worked as an Administrative Assistant for 36 years and served as President of the Ambassadors Retirement Group. Faye joined Prince Avenue Baptist Church, in 1975, and was an active member in the XYZ Club for seniors. Faye loved to travel with her power company friends and with the XYZ Group and was able to visit all 50 states, Puerto Rico and Israel during her retirement. Faye was also a dedicated bird lover, spending countless hours observing and caring for her feathered friends in the garden.

In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Tom Pledger; siblings, Marcelle Cochran McDonald of Winder; Doris Cochran McDonald of Danielsville; Emma Cochran Cape of Athens; and Lou Cochran Woodall of Lilburn; and granddaughter, Whitney Bradshaw.

Faye is survived by her children, Robin Pledger of Monroe; Jason Pledger of Augusta; and Cheeka Pledger Pack and her husband, John of Mobile, AL; brother, Lewis Cochran, Jr. of Danielsville; grandchildren, Ashley Holcomb (Cory), Chip Pledger (Leanna), Chad Pledger (Amberly), Sara Pledger, Cy Pledger, Wren Pledger (Melissa), Joshua Pledger, Jacy Ann Pledger, Alicen Brizendine (Matt), Kathryn Kearing (Marshall) and Drew Pack; great-grandchildren, Madison Holcomb, Mary Morgan Holcomb, Macie Holcomb, Adleigh Greene, Liam Greene, Jack Pledger, Sawyer Pledger, Kinsee Bradshaw, Kase Bradshaw, Whitney Pledger, Warren Pledger, Aubrey Jones, Colten Ansley, Lillie Pledger, Nora Faye Brizendine and Brooks Brizendine.

A gathering of family and friends will be held 10:00 to 11:30 AM, Tuesday, July 30, 2024, in Bernstein Funeral Home, immediately followed by the funeral service in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Sky Pratt officiating.

Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.
