Gloria was a native and lifelong resident of Athens and graduated from Athens High School. She was a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church, where she taught Preschool Sunday School for more than 30 years. Gloria served as bookkeeper with Athens Hardware for more than 20 years and before that she worked many years with Farmers Hardware and finished her working career as a sales associate with Macy’s.
She is survived by her son, Gene Freeman and his wife, Cindy, of Watkinsville; granddaughter, Kelli Jean Pentecost of Louisville, KY; sister, Judy Vandagriff of DeRidder, LA; nephew, Dale Vandagriff and his wife, Vonda, of DeRidder, LA; great-grandchildren, Awstin Pentecost, Hailee Young (Justin) and Cole Pentecost.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, May 23, 2025, in Bernstein Funeral Home.
Graveside funeral services and burial will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, May 24, 2025, in Evergreen Memorial Park.
