Athens, Georgia—Mrs. Haydéé V. O’Kelley, 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 27, 2024. She was born in Lima, Peru on September 1, 1941 to the late Erlinda and Pompeyo Villena. Preceding Haydee in death was her husband of 52 years, Edwin O’Kelley. She loved him and missed him greatly when he passed. They’re back together again in heaven.
Haydee was a beautiful Mother to three children, a wonderful Nana to three granddaughters and to three great-grandchildren. Over the decades, her friends nicknamed her “Miss Haydee,” and “Momma O.” We will miss her beautiful Spanish accent when she would say her favorite saying “Darling.” Momma loved her family and friends! She enjoyed being a beautician! Having her beauty shops, meeting people, cooking Spanish meals, watching her Georgia Bulldawgs, the Tennis Channel, and going to church was what she enjoyed doing!
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Cathy O’Kelley Harless, Kim O’Kelley Tresco (Rick), and Eddie O’Kelley II; her granddaughters: Ericka Nelson (Curt), Lora and Julie Tresco; her great-grandchildren: Rylee, Enzo, and Cruz; and her beloved siblings.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the Bernstein Funeral Home Chapel, with Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Following the service, will be the interment in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Bernstein Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
