Jackie Rhodes Unruh

Jackie thoroughly enjoyed the vibrant Athens’ community, which ultimately developed into deep friendships and wonderful memories. Jackie loved her “clientele family” and often regaled their adventures together with others.

Jackie was born into a military family who afforded her the valued experience of travel, as a young child. She was born in Madrid, Spain and was able to visit several countries for cultural awareness and appreciation. The family was ultimately stationed back to the states where Jackie found a new home and community in Athens, Georgia.

Perhaps, Jackie’s most proud accomplishment, in this life, was the birth of her only child, Kyle Unruh. No love was greater than what she felt for her son. She is also survived by Kyle’s father, Greg Unruh, her brother, Jon Rodgers, Scout, her loyal dachshund, as well as multiple relations spread across our country.

Jackie was a talented, creative and fun-loving lady who is loved, and who was loved, by all who met her. In social settings, she always made her presence known to others - it is fair to say that she was known as "the life of the party". Her joy and laughter were her gifts to us all! We love you, Jackie.

A memorial service will be held later and will be announced by Bernstein Funeral Home.
