In my first note I failed to remember his brother, Jon, whom I met at Logan, IA along with their parents, and son Craig (nice for this Scot to hear). Fifty seven years of marriage is a wonderful achievement, Nancy. I might get there in another 5 years. (:-)) Fond memories of my time with Jim and his family are still with me.

Jim and I met in a dorm at Iowa State from where I visited his home In Logan at Thanksgiving. He later came to my home on Long Island for a week in the summer. I was at his wedding to Nancy, after which we lost touch. I remember him fondly as a guy with a great sense of humor, someone with integrity and reliability. My sincere sympathy goes to Nancy and Jon and all of Jim's family.

To Nancy and family, our sincere condolences.  Jim was a wonderful man, with a great sense of humor, and a great volunteer for all sorts of causes.  His work for Kiwanis was outstanding and appreciated by all the members.  His work at church was important to him and to the church.  I remember when he called me to come to the church to study the type of rock that had fallen when the church was hit by lightning.  I did not realize until later how much he was interested and involved in the physical plant at the church.  I will miss his emails.  He was a great guy.  Bern and Gilles Allard
