

Joe “Roger” Landrum, a native of Athens, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on July 20, 1934, he was the son of the late Joe Denson "Jack" Landrum and Frances Geneva Milligan Landrum.
Roger was a kind-hearted individual known for his dry sense of humor and passion for trivia. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia where he earned a Master’s degree in chemistry, was a retired chemist with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and a longtime member of Princeton United Methodist Church. A huge fan of UGA football, he also enjoyed traveling both domestically and abroad.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his nephew, Kenneth John "Kent" Luttrell. He is survived by his sister, Gloria Elizabeth Landrum Luttrell (Kenneth Robert Luttrell) of Huntsville, Alabama; nieces, Maria Stafford (Walter Robert Stafford Jr.) of Hazel Green, Alabama, and Marla Luttrell of Houston, Texas; and great-nieces, Syd Lineberry, Laura Stafford, Amy Stafford, and Eleanor Lineberry.
Roger was a sweet man who cared deeply for his mother, nieces, nephew, and great-nieces.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 8, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., in Evergreen Memorial Park, located at 3655 Atlanta Highway, Athens.
