Judith Larimer Lund

Judi was born on February 28, 1943 in Big Timber, Montana. As a toddler Judi contracted Polio and spent much of her youth in hospitals to repair the damage Polio caused. Judi remained grateful to March of Dimes and Shriners Hospitals for the care they provided her.

After moving to California Judi met and married the love of her life Eric Lund. Before retiring Judi worked for Oak Knoll Naval Hospital in Oakland, the Veterans Home in Yountville and the City of Napa, Napa California. In 1988 she and Eric moved to Athens GA. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church.

Judi was a true and loyal friend. Her deep compassion for all God’s creatures is well known. From taking in strays or babysitting the pets of friends and family there was always room in Judi’s heart and home. Judi enjoyed stockcar races, hot air ballooning and fishing. She and Eric had planned a vacation to the Sacramento River Delta for boat camping, salmon and sturgeon fishing.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 39 years Eric Lund, stepson Scott E Lund and wife Jennifer, grandchildren Richard Lund, Jason Lund, Jennifer Garcia and husband Jose Garcia, great-grandchildren Aubrey Garcia, Angie Garcia and her three sisters and their families.

Judi was preceded in death by her father John Larimer, mother Dorothy Larimer Boyd, stepfather Carroll Boyd, son David Lund and daughter Paula Sue Lund.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Bernstein Funeral Home.
