She was born in Howell, Michigan the youngest child of Lowell and Jo Rainey, but grew up in Clewiston, Florida with her brother Trent, sister Keith and 5 cousins Cindy, Sherry, Michy, Lee and Chuck.
She moved to Amarillo, Texas 2 years after high school. She married Brian Woods and
divorced after 5 years, but they remained friends for many years. She soon after began to work for AT&T where she became a technician. She loved her job, especially the people she worked with. She had a gift for finding amazing friends inside and outside work and lived a joyful life with them having bible studies and spiritual talks, adventures, bossing and being bossed, mentoring, counseling, playing, and loving them and her family. Debbie and Kari, Jennifer and Sandy, Jane, Scotty, Charles, Mark, and so many others became like family She spent a lot of time.in Athens, Georgia with her Mom, Dad, sister, and brother and found a church of people she greatly loved.
She had always wanted to live in the country and when she found an abandoned old farmhouse she convinced the owners to let her rent it and fix it up. She spent several years living without air conditioning or much heat 20 miles outside Amarillo fighting rattlesnakes and mice but having a blast with the farm life. Finally, her sister badgered into moving back to town and she found a little house where she made beautiful gardens and a koi pond. She loved her little jewel box home where she enjoyed sitting by her pond talking to God and gathering people for birthdays, holidays, hanging out, or to just come heal. She always enjoyed animals and through the years had a series of found pets that wandered through... Molly, her neurotic lab, fish and turtles, and finally a huge white cat she named Mr. Bingley. She was brave and kind, artistic and elegant, creative and fun-loving. She loved adventures, motorcycles, wonderful food, opera music, and traveling, but mostly she loved and enjoyed people. She was a Starfish thrower and she was ready to try and rescue and love the starfish who fell in her path. She is leaving sunshine in many lives.
