Linda May Barron

Linda's early years were spent in Evanston until her family relocated to North Augusta, South Carolina, when she was seven. She graduated from North Augusta High School and later moved to Bogart, in April 1994, where she began a new chapter of her life with Leo Barron. Linda and Leo were married at home on May 25, 1994, and reaffirmed their vows in August of the same year at Trinity Lutheran Church in Athens.

A lifelong learner, Linda graduated from the University of Georgia in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science. She furthered her education by obtaining a Cisco Network Specialist Certification (CCNA) from Gwinnett Technical College in 2012.

Linda's professional life was marked by dedication and versatility. She worked with Sam's Club in various part-time and full-time positions for 30 years. From 2001 to 2010, she served as a program tester for Scientific Games in Alpharetta. Since 2014, Linda had been contributing her expertise as an Application Analyst Specialist at the University of Georgia's EITS department.

Linda was a passionate music lover and musician, known for her vast knowledge of music trivia. Her presence was a beacon of light, always smiling and welcoming to everyone around her.

Linda is survived by her husband, Leo Barron, of Statham; her daughters, Carolyn Amber Griffin and Kirsten Barron; her brother, James Guy Hester; and her sister, Marie Hester Reider.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Bernstein Funeral Home, located at 3195 Atlanta Highway, Athens, on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. This will be followed by Reflections by Family and Friends at the same venue from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A Graveside Service and Inurnment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Park, 3655 Atlanta Highway, Athens, starting at 2:30 pm.

Linda will be laid to rest at Evergreen Memorial Park. Her light and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
