A native of Barrow County, Mrs. McConnell was a daughter of the late John Toole and Mattie Mae Butler Toole.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Alexander King; brothers, Rev. Elmer Butler, Joel Toole, William Boyd, Bobby Toole Sr., Jack Toole, Jimmy Toole and Robert Boleman; and sisters, Edna Drake, Lizzie Baxter, Ellie Mae Toole and Brenda Patton.
Survivors include husband, Lamar McConnell of Athens; children, Crystal McConnell Embrick of Barrow County, Gail McConnell King and Jason McConnell, both of Commerce; brothers, William (Brother) Toole, Junior Toole, Henry Toole; and sisters, Mary Chambers, Sue Moody and Lillie Sorrow; 11 grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 8 at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home.
