A native and lifelong resident of the Athens area, Michael was the son of Retha Carol Wilson of Winterville. He was a music and sports enthusiast and loved rap music, especially Jay-Z. He was of the Christian faith.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his brother, Johnathan Matthew Wilson, sister-in-law, Joselin Chacon Wilson and nephew, Jaylen Cruz Wilson of Winterville; his daughter, Tianna Shantel Isreal of Athens, son-in-law, Fransico Carlos of Gilbert, SC; grandchildren: Eliana Mia Israel (Fayetteville, NC) and Carlos Jordan Israel (Columbia, SC); his uncles: Greg Wilson of Madison County, Kenneth Wilson of Madison County, Ronnie Wilson of Florida and Jess Reeves of Gainesville; his auntie, Becky Wilson of Royston; his cousins: Jillian Phillips, Tristan Wilson, Daniel Wilson, Rodney “RJ” Shannon, Michael Wilson, and Keith Wilson; other survivor, mother of his daughter, Latoya Johnson of Athens.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 11, at 11:00 a.m., in the Bernstein Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Ryan Baer officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 10, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Bernstein Funeral Home.
