Born in Tuscaloosa, AL, Dr. Brewer was a daughter of the late Quincy Bryan and Louise Washington Bryan. She was a lifelong educator having taught history at the University of Georgia.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Joseph Floyd Brewer Jr. of Athens; children, Joseph Floyd “Joe” Brewer III (Ashley) of Watkinsville and Quincy Brewer Hutto (Bryan) of Athens; sister, Dena Lang (Tommy) of Alabama; grandchildren, London Schuessler (Rick) of Las Vegas, NV, Jake Brewer, Bryan Hutto, Joseph Hutto and Landry Hutto, all of Athens; great-granddaughter, Molly Brewer of Athens.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, March 13 at 2 p.m. at Oconee Hill Cemetery.
