

Patricia Noble Johnson, known to family and friends as Patty, passed away on November 18, 2024, at the age of 78, in Athens, Georgia. Born on September 1, 1946, Patty's vibrant personality and dynamic presence made her a beacon of inspiration to many.
Patty pursued her passion for helping others at the University of Georgia, where she earned a Master of Social Work Degree. Her professional journey as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist was marked by significant contributions to the community, including the establishment of the Family Counseling Service satellite office in Winder, Georgia. Patty dedicated much of her career to psychotherapy. primarily in private practice, and took great joy in training student therapists. She also served at Charter Winds Hospital, further highlighting her commitment to mental health and family support.
Beyond her professional life, Patty was deeply involved in her community, leading Education for Ministry at Emmanuel Episcopal Church. Her spirituality was an integral part of her life and work, guiding her service and leadership.
An avid lover of the arts and nature, Patty had a rich life outside her work and community service. She was an enthusiastic fisher and an accomplished pianist, having earned a music scholarship at the University of Texas. Her creative spirit was also expressed through various crafts and art forms, enriching her life and the lives of those around her.
Her two treasures in life were her sons, Andrew and Charles (Chuck). Patty's legacy is cherished by her loving husband, Paul Cardozo; her son, Andrew Johnson; and her sisters, Nancy Dany and Ellen Noble.
She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Johnson; her father, Bill Noble; her mother, Jean Noble; and her sister, Frances Noble.
Services to honor Patty's life will be held Wednesday, December 4, at 2:00 p.m., in the Bernstein Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or Habitat for Humanity, 322 West Lamar Street, Americus, GA 31709, organizations which reflect Patty's lifelong dedication to the welfare of others.
