Paul maintained our computer systems at Sugarloaf Country Club.  We were referred to him by a board member who was a colleague and friend for over 20 years.  Paul was always a joy to work with, very knowledgeable, and always came when we needed him.  He loved his work and always brought a smile to the office when he was here.  We are so sorry for your loss.  He will truly be missed.   Our condolences and continued prayers from the Sugarloaf Country Club staff.  We absolutely adored Paul.

I know and was friend with Paul for more than 24 years. Paul help us for so many years in the business with Trust-Joist, Weyerhaeuser and Georgia-Pacific. Paul help me to design the process network for all company listed above. R.I.P Paul my friend. Daniel 

Paul was my “computer guy” for 20 years, but it felt like a friendship as well. We had many long conversations about everything.  I was amazed that he was almost always available to help fix a problem over the telephone when possible and if it required a visit to my business, he would always fit me in the next day.   The last time I called him for such a problem, he answered from the hospital. I called a week later as well to check on him and said, next time I call, you will be at home. I just found out tonight that he passed, and I am so sad and sorry that he has gone.  He was a unique, genuine and kind person.

Paul was our neighbor in Edina. Growing up. He was always so  Kind and a wealth of knowledge. He built our first home computer and introduced us to a new world of technology. My husband Steve always enjoyed the many conversations they shared. Nearly twenty years ago we visited Paul in Athens and loved touring  his  beloved College and local sites. Through the years we enjoyed hearing about his adventures and successes. He was a Very engaging Special person and  I will miss him. Deepest Sympathies to all his family and friends. I pray they will find peace and comfort in their memories of Paul. 

I knew Paul in the late seventies and early eighties. He was one year my senior.  His warmth and acumen I will always remember.  I knew he'd be there in a pinch.  I haven't seen him in over 30 years, but I will always count him a friend. 

Paul and I went to same high school; he was a year younger than me. But we rarely saw each other there. Truth is, in that preppy school, we were both nerds.  It was Monday evenings at scouts where we were friends. That's where we  gained skills, learned all kinds of things about nature and life. Paul joined our basement rock band as the bass player. Not because he'd ever played before, but because he was a friend. I remember when he and Joe and I biked across southern Minnesota together; we laughed and joked and sang and talked nearly every minute of that trip, till snow in the forecast cut it short by a day. Despite both our awkwardness as kids, I knew Paul was going to do something great and fulfilling with his life, and he sure did.


I met Paul in 2002 when I hired him to set up some computers . That was the beginning of a 19 year friendship.

Paul was one of a kind….a brilliant genius that somehow managed to tie his shoes. 
Paul was one of the smartest people I've ever known. He loved to play the devil’s advocate. Some people used to say he thought he knew everything. My defense was always “well, he kind of does.” And he really did know about everything, although I loved to challenge him. He had a photographic memory.

Paul became an honorary member of the Roche family, attending many holiday gatherings and even going on a Roche family vacation. I also got to know all of his family. We traveled to Montana in 2015 and stayed with his Dad in Butte. Paul loved to recount how he scared the crap out of me driving 90 MPH over the Continental Divide. 

I used to say “he was my brother by a different mother.” 

There was nobody in the world that I could rely on more than Paul. He was a great friend to anyone who knew him. He was “that guy” you could call in a pinch who would always be there for you.

Many years ago, my bathroom flooded at 1:00 a.m. with water was pouring into the basement, soaking the drop ceiling tiles, which were collapsing over one of my work stations. I looked at my BF and said, “What do we do?” He said "Let’s call Paul. He will know what to do." He picked up on the first ring (he always picked up for me). His response was “I’ll be there in 10 minutes with my dehumidifier.” And he showed up and helped us clean up the mess until about 2:00 a.m. That was just the kind of guy he was. BETTER CALL PAUL!

Paul was just a damn good guy…even if he drove me crazy sometimes… and he was a great friend. I am going to miss him. And I know I am going to be a bit lost without him.

My cousin Paul would drive down from Athens to Atlanta each year to meet me for our ritual trip to the Pit Boss barbeque by the airport. We would catch up on family, hash out the major topics of the day, and walk out smelling like smoke. Paul was simply a nice non-flashy (in a good way) down to earth guy who built a successful business and was genuine to those he met. He left us way too young but his was a life well lived.

I can't believe it's been thrity years since I last saw Paul. Paul was such a kind, generous person. Thank you all for this beautiful memorial. The photo album brought back so many memories. Paul left an indelible mark on those of us who knew him Athens. It reminds me of how many close friends and family who loved him.

For me, Paul was perhaps beyond a friend. He was always ready to help me, help anyone. When I could, it was a privilege to be there, to help him.
We pulled wire, we loaded Mainframes, we drove on icy roads all night, to serve.
I didn’t even work for him.
He was just a very decent man.
Friends do what is needed, no matter when or where. He was always there for me. I tried my best, to be there for him.
These friends never pass, because you hold them in your heart.

I really liked Paul. I was sorry to hear about his death. I will miss him.

Paul was a good friend and my computer guru. We spent hours talking. Even when he was in the hospital we texted.  His goodness, his caring, and his wisdom live on. May the memory of Paul be a source of comfort to those who loved him.

I have strong memories of Paul from his childhood days in Troop 33, at Camp Ajawah, and early adult days. I  enjoyed talking to Paul. He will be missed. My sincerest sympathies to his family and friends regarding this grievous loss.

Paul helped us with networks building Evoshield as it grew.  He was a great friend to me and I recommended him to many of my customers.  I can tell if someone knows his trade and he did.  He was simply a pleasure to work with.
I’m so sad he’s gone.  God bless his kind soul.

I met Paul when we were both Boy Scouts in Troop 33 and at Camp Ajawah where we worked together and became pals. He was always fun, kind, and bright - I always picture him with a big grin on his face.  With another friend, Jim Parry, we spent one spring break during high school taking a cycling camping trip through southern MN and back up the WI side of the Mississippi. It started to snow at that point, and Paul's dad rescued us with the station wagon.  I have many other fond memories and wish I'd seen him in the years since we headed off to various parts of the world.  My deepest condolences to his parents and brothers, whom I also remember were always nice to me, too.

I first met Paul at Ten Pins Bowling Alley in Athens.  He could also be counted on for good conversation at festivals, concerts or just knocking around town.  He was a warm, generous soul from whom I never heard an unkind word.  When he discovered my son was at  Carnegie Mellon he gave sound advice about where to go & what to see in and around Pittsburgh.  I'm sure it helped our son find his way - it sounds like Paul did that for a lot of people.  I'm so very sorry for your loss.  He'll be missed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Paul’s family. Paul was a great friend and mentor. He will be missed.

We were shocked to learn of Paul's passing.  We knew Paul since his graduate school days and in 1991, I would venture to say that I was his first customer.  He was one of a kind - always fixing what needed to be fixed and spending many hours at my office until the job was done to perfection.  We chatted many times about travel, and the various issues of the day.  Paul will be missed by me and my office staff immensely.

I am so very sorry to hear of Paul's passing.  I have known Paul for over 20 years and we were good friends as well as colleagues.  Paul and I worked together often, his guidance and expertise were always available.  He had a profound impact on my career in IT and I will always appreciate his generosity.   Personally, we became good friends and I always enjoyed busting his chops over the Vikings , but we bonded over the Northwoods, walleyes, and UGA.  Paul spoke fondly of you all and I know he enjoyed his trips to Minnesota and Montana and wished he could take them more often.  My condolences and deepest sympathies to all of you. He will be missed.
