A native of McComb, Mississippi, Mr. Freeman was the son of the late Richard G. Freeman and Martha Terrell Freeman and was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Beeman Freeman and sisters, Gerline Boggs and Mary Freeman. He retired honorably from the United States Army where he served two tours of duty in Korea and served three in Vietnam. Mr. Freeman retired from Reliance Electric as a quality control electrical inspector.
Survivors include his companion, Etheleen Braswell of Old Town, FL; daughters, Ceola “Jackie” Powell of Phoenix, AZ and Claudia Parraga of Augusta, GA; sons, Roger Freeman of Tallahassee, FL, Rev. Richard “Rick” W. Freeman Jr. of Sandersville, GA, and Curtis Freeman of Lilburn; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held 1PM Friday, January 20th at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, GA.
