A native of Berkley, West Virginia, Mr. Parker was the son of the late Bob and Anna Garrett Wells and was preceded in death by sisters, Deloris Wells and Shirley Walsh. and brothers Jim Parker and Robert Wells. He served in the United States Marine Corps, was a truck driver with McLane Southeast for 34 years, and a member of Colbert United Methodist Church.
Survivors include sons, Richard Parker Jr and wife, Vickie of Colbert and Eddie Parker of Comer; daughter, Brenda Vickers and husband, Scott of Danielsville; sisters, Meryle Tucker of Colbert, Marie Madison of Troy, PA, Betty Wolhford of NY, Jackie Bybee of Hewitt, TX, and Connie Rosin of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Tabitha Crawford, Tiffany Parker, Wade Parker, Amber Tatgenhorst, Ray Tatgenhorst, and James Dulaney, and great-grandchildren, Callie Crawford, Mason Tatgenhorst, Matthew Hamilton, and Andrew Hamilton.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
