Thomas David Gearhart

A native of DuBois, Pennsylvania, Mr. Gearhart was born November 28, 1933 to the late John and Mary Gearhart and was preceded in death by brothers, William, Andrew and Robert.

He was retired as a machinist from Dairy-Pak. He served as President of Local Union 794, AFL-CIO for 15 years. He was a member of Saint Josephs’ Catholic Church and served in many ministries. He was a member of the Parish Council on 4 different occasions and President of Saint Joseph School PTA. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus until his illness.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Susan Swofford Gearhart; children, Mark (Tammay) Gearhart of Martin, GA, Jeff (Sharon) Gearhart of Ft. Pierce, FL, Susan (Bo) Parker of Monroe, GA; brother, Jack Gearhart of Jacksonville, FL; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at the Catholic Center at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 22nd with Msgr. Henry Gracz, Msgr. Al Jowdy, and Rev. Steve Yander as celebrants. Visitation with family will be Thursday from 6 to7:30 at Bernstein Funeral Home with the rosary to follow at 7:30.
