She was born October 1, 1918, in Bronwood GA and was preceded in death by a son, Randy, and a daughter, Susan; her parents Wade and Mattie Goode, and two sisters, Phyllis and Audrey.
Mrs. Hall was a graduate of Bronwood High School, and graduated from GA. Southwestern College in Americus with an associate degree in Education. Being a very talented musician, during her career she directed glee clubs, choirs, taught school and piano. She was a kind, compassionate, positive, patient and loving wife, Mom, “Mimi”, sister, and friend, leaving us with many wonderful memories to cherish. Mrs. Hall was a dedicated Christian and faithful member of St James Methodist Church for over fifty years. She served her church as pianist, organist, youth choir music director and in other capacities. She was office manager for the Wesley Foundation at UGA for many years, a member of the Athens Garden Club and a rabid Bulldog fan
She is survived by her faithful and loving husband, Dr. Morrill M. Hall of Athens; son, Mel, and his wife, Judy, of Great Falls, VA; two grandchildren, Julie Hall of Atlanta, GA, and Todd Hall and his wife, Melinda, of Oak Hill, VA; and two precious great grandchildren, Kate and Annabelle of Oak Hill VA. She is also survived by three sisters, Doris Goode, Nell Etheridge, and Wadene Smith.
Services will be 11 AM Wednesday, September 8, at St. James Methodist Church, 111 West Lake Drive, Athens, GA, with Rev. Jerry Meredith officiating. Interment will follow at Oconee Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm on Tuesday, September 7, at Bernstein Funeral Home, 3195 Atlanta Highway, Athens, GA.
