

Antoinette Vincent Shields Parker passed away peacefully on October 20 in her hometown of Atlanta. She was born on May 18, 1917, and received her education at Girl's High School. She later married Joe Shields, also a native Atlantan, who opened Tropical Grove Fruit Stores. They were together until his death in 1971. She then wed Charlie Parker, an Atlanta attorney, and remained with him until his death.
During her lifetime she was well known as a beautiful fashion model whose photos were frequently featured in the Atlanta Journal & Constitution. She also appeared often on the "Today In Georgia" television program modeling clothes for Regenstein's. Antoinette was an avid collector of antiques and antique dolls and was a past member of the Atlanta Doll Club. She was also an excellent cook and specialized in
baking cakes for her favorite people.
She was a beautiful southern lady, both inside and out.
Antoinette is survived by her daughter, Claire Shields May, sister-in-law Pat Vincent, nieces: Nina Vincent Sewell, Antoinette Thomas and Ellen Woodruff; nephew Charles Vincent; and other grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 24, 2011 at 11 o’clock at Patterson’s Spring Hill; interment will follow in Historic Oakland. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 23 from 4 until 6 o’clock at Spring Hill.
