Barbara was a loving mother who devoted many years to raising her children. Later in life, she found fulfillment working in the banking industry and eventually retired as a mortgage underwriter. She was a proud alumna of Lees McRae College.
Barbara was known for her positive outlook on life and her love for meeting new people. After her retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC, and at the Lamar Clothing Closet in Lamar, SC.
She is survived by her son, Michael Stanley; daughter Leah (Richard) Herbert; granddaughters, Laura Herbert and Grace (Joaquin) Jones and newborn great-grandsons, Adrian and Dion Jones.
Until her move to Georgia to be nearer to her son, Barbara was a longtime member of Lamar United Methodist Church in Lamar, SC.
Barbara Tolson Stanley will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
