Born November 17,1939 in Atlanta, GA, Beverly was a graduate of Sylvan High School. She was a lifelong educator and school administrator. She held a masters degree in education from Georgia State. Many might be surprised to know she received her undergraduate degree from The University of Georgia as her closet was filled with Georgia Tech colored clothing, purses and accessories and she never missed a home game.
A mother to Donna (Steve), Amy (Ben) and Cliff (Tiffany) she was supportive, loving and an amazing example of unconditional love. Many a cold morning she was freezing in the stands at Murphy Chandler Park for football season or braving the summer sun for baseball season.
In her retired years, her greatest joy was playing board games with her grandchildren. Kirstie, Amanda (Nick), Quint, Nate Wood, Izzy and Lewie often came by for an afternoon of games and a Varsity chili dog.
She was blessed to have friends, extended family and cousins. Many visited and sat by her in her last days and brought a much welcomed smile during that time.
Although we mourn for ourselves, we rejoice in the knowledge that she is with her beloved husband, Mother and Father as well as her Lord and Savior.
Services to celebrate her life will be held on May 29 at 1:00 PM at The Church of The Apostles Chapel, 3585 Northside Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30327. A reception will follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to 'Help The Persecuted', PO Box 20303, Atlanta, GA 30325.
