

Charles Everett Harvley died on August 10, 2016 after a courageous and hard-fought two-year battle with cancer. Charles held a B.A. in Economics and History from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He spent his career in the group medical and life insurance industry, including work for Southland Life in Dallas, ING, and AIG in Atlanta. Intelligent and creative, Charles had a dry wit; he loved to read, write, and travel, making trips to Scotland, England, and Puerto Rico. Charles was a steadfast and loyal son who cared for his mother until her death at age 100 in 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, O.E. Harvley and Carolyn Latimer Harvley; his maternal grandparents, Henry Roger Latimer and Carrie Butler Latimer; his paternal grandparents, Hugh Griffin Harvley and Suzie Raines Harvley, all of Georgia, and numerous aunts and uncles. Survivors include his sister, Zena Harvley-Felder and husband, Tom, of Fredericksburg, VA; nephew, Andrew Harvley-Felder, wife Jasyn, and great-niece, Darryn McKenna Felder of Virginia Beach, VA; and niece, Irene Buckley, husband, Chris, and great-nephew, Jacob Paul Buckley of Richmond, VA. A private family service of remembrance will take place in Virginia at a later date. Interment will be at Arlington Memorial Park in Atlanta. The family wishes to thank especially Dr. Sreekanth Reddy, other doctors and nurses at Northside Hospital, and staff of Visiting Nurse Health System Hospice for their excellent care of Charles during his last days.
