

Debra Wilson Thiele passed away on July 23, 2024 in Duluth, Georgia. She was born on October 23, 1957 in Atlanta to parents Ben and Eleanor Wilson and grew up in Decatur, Georgia where she graduated from St. Pius Catholic High School. She dedicated her life to serving others in the community, both in her professional work and volunteer work through the church. In her professional life, she worked as a medical assistant and devoted twenty-eight years working for the Gwinnett County School District, serving thousands of students through the food service departments at Beaver Ridge and Bethesda Elementary Schools. Through Holy Cross Catholic, she was a dedicated member of the Women’s Club and was the leading fundraiser for Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cancer Home, as well as working to raise funds for the Kaleidoscope Children’s Camp each summer.
Preceded in death by her mother, Eleanor Wilson, Debra is survived by her loving husband, Patrick Thiele, and daughter, Sarah Thiele Thornton, as well as her father, Ben U. Wilson, and siblings, Ben Wilson, Linda Parisi, and Bob Wynne-Wilson.
The Funeral Mass in celebration of Debra’s life will be conducted on Friday, August 2, 2024 at 11:00 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Atlanta, officiated by Father Jude Michael Krill. Immediately following the service, the family will receive friends in the church parish hall. Internment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs at 2:30 pm.
