Doris Evelyn Burns, age 85, of Suwanee passed away Sunday, August 28, 2016 at her home. She was born in New York City on January 7, 1931 and moved to Atlanta in 1963. She was preceded in death by her parents, George D. and Mary M. Eidt, brother George Eidt and son Stephen J. Burns. She is survived by her daughter Linda E. Burns of Dacula, son Brian B. Burns of Boston, Ma., sister Helen Scanlon of Philadelphia, Pa. and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She retired after working many years at First Atlanta. She loved gardening, all kinds of arts and crafts, decorating and traveling. She never met a stranger and was greatly loved and will be missed. The family would also like to give many thanks to her companion and caregiver for the last year and a half, Rose Williams. Without her patience, kindness and knowledge, our mother would have not been able to remain in her home, which was her wish. Memorial Service plans to be announced.
