At North Avenue, she was a pillar of strength in supporting the Atlanta Women & Children Shelter. Along with helping the homeless, her other community passions were supporting with purpose The Lovett School and praising the great work of Skyland Trail.
In her earlier years, Mrs. Jackson painted often and beautifully and was a active volunteer at Lovett, where her sons graduated, and assumed a number of volunteer positions for the school.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by her brother: Charles Inman Owens, Jr. of Albany; her sons: Doug, Clay and Glen Jackson; daughters in law: Jane and Claire Jackson; grandchildren: Virginia, Jeff, Laura, Audrey and Clayton; niece: Susan Owens Greene of Albany and cousins: Beverly Cumming and John Bain of Richmond, Virginia.
