

Sue was born in Sandy Springs, Georgia to Samuel Bertrum Wood and Ethel Pirkle Wood. She attended North Fulton High School and Georgia State University.
She was a member of the Chamblee Garden Club, Dunwoody Hills Garden Club and Chamblee United Methodist church. She was an avid Bridge player and played with a group of friends for over 35 years.
Having traveled to many different countries covering almost every Continent, she enjoyed learning about different cultures and sharing the stories of her travels with her family.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband Morris B. Pierce and daughter Kelly Gail Jackson. She was survived by her daughter Donna Sue Jackson, son and daughter in law Robert C. Jackson, Jr and Anita Burnette Jackson; Grandchildren Jessica and Rico Berrios, Emily and Clayton Edwards, Robert Calvin Jackson lll, and Ronald Curtis Galyon, Jr.; Great Grandchildren Jackson Pierce Berrios, Carson Bryant Berrios, and Brooks Hamilton Berrios; Sisters Marilise Baker and Minerva Brown. Many nieces and nephews survive.
Services will be held at H.M. Patterson and Son Oglethorpe Hill on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 1pm and the family will receive friends 2 hours prior at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs. Pastor Robert A. Jackson, nephew of Sue, will be officiating.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Winship Cancer Institute Infusion Center of Emory St. Joseph’s Hospital.
