
George Rodney Hart, M.D. passed away on June 16, 2011 after a lengthy illness. Rodney is survived by Janet E. Quimby of Atlanta; daughter Angelyn Noelle Hart Beaver, husband Matthew of Ft. Worth, TX; sons, Steven Broyles Hart, MD, wife Holli of Austin, TX, Christopher Reed Hart, Austin, TX, Bradley Hart, wife Ansley and children of Dallas, GA, Michael Brian Hart of Atlanta. Sister, Mary Elizabeth Hart of Jennings, LA, brothers, William Ward Hart, Jr. of Shreveport, LA, Timothy Mark Hart, MD and wife Betsey of Shreveport, LA, John Patrick Hart and wife Chris of Shreveport, LA, Robert Charles Hart and wife Ella of Shreveport, LA and other loved relatives, colleagues and friends. He was preceded in death by daughter, Kristen Noelle Hart and parents William Ward Hart, MD and Ida Belle Guillory Hart. Rodney received a degree of Doctor of Medicine from Louisiana State University, School of Medicine, New Orleans, LA, June 1, 1968. Upon completion of medical school, he entered a rotating internship at Confederate Memorial Medical Center, Shreveport, LA. Upon completing his internship, he entered the U.S. Army as an officer, subsequently serving in Vietnam. During this time he received a bronze star among other honors. He later served at Fort Polk, LA. Rodney enjoyed the emergency and general practice of medicine and his patients. He always felt very close to the Gulf Coast Beaches, enjoying family vacations. A service will be held at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA on June 20, 2011. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American College of Cardiology or charitable organization of choice.
