Jackie was born in Atlanta, Georgia on December 16, 1937 to the late Dorris Winn Austin Jr. and Florine Janie Ragsdale.
Mrs. Cheek was a woman of God. She enjoyed serving in her church and throughout her community. She volunteered in hospitals and nursing homes. She was a proud member of the Metropolitan Church of God and the Aglow Chapter in Birmingham. Jackie loved to sing, play piano, and lead bible studies. She traveled many places throughout her lifetime and once lived in France for a couple of years. There she spent her time working as a missionary and painting. Her family will remember her as an outgoing, loving, and charming woman who would take care of everyone she could.
Mrs. Jackie Marie Cheek is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, David Clarence Cheek.
She is survived by her loving children, David C. Cheek Jr. of Brunswick, GA and Davina Delong of Pittsburgh, PA; as well as her grandchildren, David Allen Cheek, Hayden Austin Cheek, Danielle Jacquelyn Delong, Shaun Ryan Delong; and great grandchildren, Riley, Annalee, Olivia, and Alicia.
A Graveside Service for Mrs. Cheek will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM at College Park Cemetery in College Park, GA.
