James, (Jimbo) Iler, age 42, passed away on January 31, 2017, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta. Son of Elaine and Richard Iler, Jimbo was a 1993 graduate of Statesboro High School and 1997 graduate of the University of Georgia---where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. A chemist for a variety of pharmaceutical companies, Jimbo had recently gone back to school to pursue a medical degree.
Growing up in Statesboro, Jimbo was a member of Saint Matthew's Catholic Church. An avid hunter and fisherman, Jimbo enjoyed spending time outdoors.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond J. Bright and Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Iler and his sister Tracy Christine Iler.
