James "Jim" Spencer

Friends and Relatives of James "Jim" Spencer are invited to attend a memorial reception on Saturday, October 12th, 2024 between 6:30pm and 8:30pm at H. M. Patterson & Son - Oglethorpe Chapel's State Room. Light Hor D'oeuvres with memories and laughter shared.

Jim passed away on Sunday, September 22nd, 2024 at his home in Chamblee GA with friends at his side.

Jim had a BIG heart. ALWAYS thinking of others, very selfless! A GREAT sense of humor always ready for fun and THRIFT STORES!

Jim adored his cousin (big sister) Gwen and her children. Gwen and her family brought him great comfort and love throughout his life especially the last months of his life. He spoke of them everyday!

Jim had a passion for beautiful things . . Man made and natural. He was a expert in fine china, porcelain, and a amazing collection of antique postcards! He gladly shared his knowledge and expertise.

He was a Antique Dealer for many years in Atlanta and also traveling to participate in many porcelain and postcard shows and sales. Jim was a Antique Dealer for many years at My Favorite Place in Chamblee GA, Scott's Antique Market, Lakewood Antiques, as well as his own shop "Gone to the Dogs" on Broad Street in Chamblee GA.

Jim so enjoyed his second self taught German language . . "Ruhe dich gut aus" . . Rest well Jim!

Lastly and probably most important to Jim was laughter and good visits with his friends . . New, lifelong and strangers!
