

Jamie Travis Dickerson, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2015 after her courageous fight against cancer at the age of 65. She was born in Atlanta on October 24, 1949 to Mr. and Mrs. William Albert Travis.
She was a Phi Mu at the University of Tennessee and later graduated from Georgia State University with a business degree in Marketing. She worked many years as a sales executive in the investment and telecommunications industries. Then, about 20 years ago she made a major decision to leave corporate America and realized a dream, going on to open her own business, partnering with her sister, to begin LifeStyle Transitions Relocation Service for Seniors, LLC.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, George Dickerson, her son Travis Powell, his wife Bonnie and her three granddaughters, Emma, Elle and Kellyn. Also surviving are her siblings and their spouses: Don and Jody Travis, Jan and Mike Stader, Dick and Tiss Travis, and Bill and Lisa Travis, along with many, many nieces and nephews.
Jamie cherished her many lifelong friendships and had a huge following of friends including her Sandy Springs High School group, her professional group of friends affectionately known as “The Chastain Girls”, her Dunwoody neighbors and many, many others who were drawn to her loving and supportive personality.
There will be a celebration of her life on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Kingswood United Methodist Church at 2:00 with an hour visitation afterwards at the church.
