

Jannyne Martin Clark, age 56, of Sandy Springs passed away Friday April 27th. Jannyne and her twin sister Jannell Martin were born in Carrabelle, Florida in 1955 to Jim and Janice Martin. She grew up in Florida before settling in Atlanta in 1972. She began her career in the insurance industry before marrying her husband George Clark in 1982. After studying interior design, she devoted the next 30 years to raising her family. Jannyne was a compassionate and caring person who dedicated herself to many philanthropic efforts. As a loving mother, she spent much of her time advocating for Montessori education. She was very involved in creating a better community through work with the Church of Scientology of Atlanta. After 27 years of marriage, she was preceded in death by her husband George in 2009. She is survived by her daughters Christy Pope, Kathryn, Michelle, and Alison Clark, mother Janice McMahan, siblings Jannell Martin, Jo Stewart and James Martin, son-in-law Doy Pope, grandchildren Ian and Ryan Pope and nieces Jennifer and Stephanie Pridgeon. Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Thursday May 3rd at H. M. Patterson & Son, Oglethorpe Hill, with a visitation from 2 to 3pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
