Jenni was born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 20 ,1969, to the late Charles Monroe Vance, Jr. and the late Brenda Jo (Mitchell) Vance, who predeceased her earlier this year. She graduated from Northside High School in Atlanta and Sweet Briar College in Virginia, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa. After working as a caterer and web content creator, she embarked on a long career as a horse trainer and the manager of Blue Rock Farm in West Chester, PA.
A passionate dog lover and equestrienne, having trained with Olympian Lendon Grey, Jenni was also beloved for her skills at a photography, her love of music (she played both the piano and the French horn) and her sublime sense of humor and fun. She had an eye for beauty and a zest for life. Among other accomplishments, Jenni once held the top spot at the Lenox Mall video arcade for both “Pot of Gold” and “Ms. Pac-Man” game consoles on the same day in 1983. She loved all things German, not just the beer and sausage, but the language, the people and the country. She even met her husband in Germany! Her holiday cheese straws were legendary and coveted, her abilities as a hostess beyond comparison, and her skills at keeping the most finicky houseplants alive, even in winter, were as admired as the secrets were jealously guarded.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Ronald J. Granieri, and son, Brendan James Vance Granieri, of West Chester, PA; her aunts, Rosanne V. Hoblitzelle (Bill) of New Haven, Connecticut and Kathryn Cecile Logan (Steve) of Roswell; by uncle William Mitchell and aunt Judy Mitchell of Moulton, Alabama; by her cousin Stephanie Logan Byrne, who managed her care in the last difficult weeks, and her husband, Mark Byrne, and by many more cousins and dear friends. Her dog, Cordelia, her horses Aslan and Jezebela, and her dear friends Parker Pearson and Tatyana Kelly will miss her deeply.
Pallbearers will include Ronald Granieri, Brendan Granieri, Mark Byrne, Gareth Byrne, John Loss, and William Rowen.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 on Saturday, October 26, followed by service at 11:00 at H. M. Patterson and Son, Oglethorpe Hill Chapel, Atlanta, with interment in Decatur Cemetery.
