John Thomas Roetman passed away at home, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, January 13, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Frances Senn Roetman; his son, Jack Roetman (Jessica) and his daughter, Audrey Smith (Paul); his grandchildren, Ophelia and Buck Roetman and Silas and Frances Smith; and by his brother, Tom Roetman.
Born in Richfield, Minnesota, he was the son of the late Audrey and Homer Roetman.
John graduated from Arizona State University, where he played varsity tennis which led to his career as a tennis pro at Forest Lake Club in Columbia, SC, as well as Bitsy Grant and Piedmont Park in Atlanta.
A memorial service will be held on January 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church of Atlanta. The family will receive visitors in the church fellowship hall after the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church of Atlanta or Pointe Hope Presbyterian Church on Daniel Island in Charleston, SC.
