Joseph Edward Bizon (Joe)

Joseph Edward Bizon (Joe) 93, a longtime Atlanta resident passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024. Joseph was born in Philadelphia, PA. on October 18th, 1930 to Joseph Bizon and Anna Veronica Lichvar. He grew up there and graduated from Villanova University in 1953. Philadelphia is where he met and married his beloved wife of 66 years, Theresa (Terry) Marie Dybalski of Philadelphia. Upon graduating from Villanova, he was commissioned in the Navy and served from 1953 to 1960. Then in the Reserves from 1960 thru 1962 where he retired as a Lieutenant Commander while raising a family of 6 children. He then took a position as a Sales Engineer with Texas Instruments . He accepted a Sales Engineer position with AMP, Inc. in Harrisburg, PA. and was then transferred to Atlanta, Georgia with his family in 1969. He was awarded the Sales Engineer of the Year for AMP, Inc. in the early 1970's. Later in his career he started up his own business Advanced Components which he retired from in 1997.

He loved opera, Luciano Pavarotti , singing in the choir at Sacred Heart Church in downtown Atlanta, and playing golf until his was 89 years old. He had a sense of humor and loved to joke with anyone he met. He truly will be missed by everyone that knew him.

He is survived by his 5 children: Valeriann Bizon Marshall and her husband Chris Nickerson of Alpharetta, GA. , Alaina Bizon Neese and her husband Allen of Snellville, GA. , Roberta Bizon Underwood and her husband John of Sandy Springs, GA., Jeffry Bizon and his wife Kathy of Flowery Branch, GA. and Marietta Bizon of Norcross, GA. Also his 4 grandchildren: Katie Underwood of Tallahassee, FL., Kelsey Underwood Denny and her husband Tim of Rockmart, GA., Luke Bizon and his wife Tonya of Flowery Branch, GA. and Connor Bizon of Flowery Branch, GA.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, 353 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30308.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
