OLSEN, Matthew MATTHEW OLSEN Affectionately known as the Fume Bear and El Berro was born May 12, 1987 to Suzanne LeCraw Olsen Cox and Eric Olsen. He graduated from Westminster School in 2006 and the University of Alabama in 2010 where he was a member of SAE Fraternity. Matthew had the kindest, most gentle spirit of anyone in his large family. He had the true gift of making everyone he met feel welcomed and liked. His family and all of his many friends loved his big smile and sparkling eyes. He made people laugh. Matthew was a talented athlete with a God given ability that seemed effortless. He enjoyed many sports during his life...Buckhead Baseball, NYO Football on the Champion Vikings Team, Westminster Varsity Baseball, snowboarding and heli-skiing with his Uncle Steve, gymnastics, golf, and skeet shooting. But he really could excel in any sport that he chose. Matthew loved music of all genres. He and his Dad shared this passion. Matthew played the guitar and had become quite accomplished. In trying to sum up who Matthew was, the word that was mentioned the most is HEART. He loved his family and friends with his whole heart and soul, and they all knew it. They will miss him terribly. He is survived by his Mother, Suzanne Cox, and Step-Father, George, his Father, Eric Olsen, and Step-Mother, Emily. He had 6 siblings that loved him...Mark, Joanna, Elizabeth and Catherine Olsen, Charles and Chris (Georgia) Cox. His Grandparents were Joanne and Julian LeCraw and Betty and Sherm Olsen. He was very close to his cousins...Lauren (David) Beall, Reid Olsen, Kevin, Suzanne and Leigh Baker, Ashton, Julian and Sophia LeCraw and Brent Olsen. Uncles and Aunts...Elaine Baker, Julian LeCraw, Jr., Steve and Lee Olsen, Susan LeCraw. Funeral Services for Matthew will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 11a.m. at Atlanta First Presbyterian Church.
