Keith Harris Arnold passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, after a long, brave battle with soft tissue sarcoma. Keith was born on April 19, 1967, in Huntsville, Alabama to Carla Ann Harris and Kenneth Irwin Arnold. He attended Gardendale High School where he was voted Senior Class President and Most Popular. Keith remained friends with many of his Gardendale classmates throughout the years, especially his best friend Frank Oldfield.
Keith matriculated to Auburn University and graduated in 1990 with a B.S. in Architecture. He moved to Atlanta to begin his career and found a position at Neiman Marcus in visual merchandising. From there, he moved to Ainsworth Noah for a time before moving across the country to Los Angeles. There he worked with renowned interior designers, Charles Pollack, Nancy Corzine and Martyn Lawrence Bullard. A desire to return to the east coast brought him back to Atlanta in 2004. He began working at Suzanne Kasler Interiors. As the Vice President, he was indispensable to Suzanne, his clients and the entire SKI team and was by Suzanne’s side for over 20 years.
In 1992, Keith met the love of his life, Marc Ferguson. The couple built a wonderful life together: working hard, traveling the world, spending quality time with friends and family. They made it a tradition to visit Marc’s family in Hawaii every Christmas, where Keith quickly became the favorite uncle to Rocco and Francesca. Marc and Keith were married Labor Day weekend 2012 in New York City with close friends in attendance. It was a weekend full of love and celebration. They remained devoted to each other until the end. Marc was by Keith’s side throughout his battle with cancer, providing love, encouragement, support and the best caretaking ever.
To know Keith Arnold was to love him! He always saw the best in people, no matter who they were. He was often referred to as the dog whisperer because every dog he met loved him and he loved them back. They could sense the goodness and affection pouring out of him. He was uniquely positive and everyone who knew him adored him. Keith was one of the kindest, smartest, and most creative people you could meet. He had a fantastic sense of humor and was easily one of the best story tellers around. Many favorite stories were repeated over and over by request. Those stories will forever remain with those who love him. Keith loved to travel with Marc and friends. Whether it was a long weekend in Highlands, Las Vegas, or New York or a longer adventure in Turkey, Africa or Iceland, Keith loved to visit new places and immerse himself in the culture. He was beloved by all and will be profoundly missed.
Keith is predeceased by his father Kenneth Irwin Arnold. He is survived by his husband Marc Ferguson, his mother Carla, sister Kellie (David), niece Sydnie (Peter), nephew Mark, sister-in-law Maureen (Bill), brother-in-law Michael (Frank), sister-in-law Michele (Jason), sister-in-law Meredith (Chris), nephew Rocco, niece Francesca, many wonderful friends and puppy Cowboy. Keith requested that his ashes be scattered in several of his favorite places. There will be no service at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, 1762 Clifton Road, Suite 2400, Atlanta, GA 30322.
