

Linda Cooper Jones, age 76, passed away on February 15, 2016 at her home. Linda was born in Inman, SC and moved to Atlanta as a child. She spent her adult life living in Chamblee where she raised her three daughters. A graduate of Chamblee High School, Linda was employed by Southern Bell, later Bell South for over 40 years. Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church was central to Linda’s life. She was an Elder, Clerk of Session and on the Diaconate. She worked tirelessly in the Food Pantry and Clothing Center. If there was a need in the church, Linda was there ministering to others with gifts of food and a listening ear. Melissa Wynn, granddaughter, was a companion to Linda in many of her church activities. Linda doted on all children, especially her grandchildren, great granddaughter, nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She is survived by her children Laura (Brad) Addison, Lorraine Wynn, sister Ann Jenkins, brother Joe Cooper (Karen), sister in law Patsy Cooper, six grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Leslie Nolind, parents Joe and Sarah Cooper and brother, Marshall Cooper. There will be a memorial service at 2:00 pm at Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church with Reverend Marthame Sanders officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church, 3016 Lanier Drive, Atlanta, Georgia 30319.
