

Williams, Lydia (Lee) Lydia Mae (Lee) Souza Williams passed away on May 22, 2014. She was loved by many, and leaves a lasting impression on all. Born July 12, 1912, in Eleele, Kauai, Lee was an avid gardener, passionate bridge player, consummate hostess, a fabulous cook, and loved to travel. She was a sweet lady and a spunky woman. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Lt Col Warren Candler Williams. They were both living on base at Hickam Field when Pearl Harbor was bombed and she had many stories to tell. Lee was the middle child of seven children and the last to survive. Lee’s long life wasn’t really a secret at all. She ate healthy food, had a very active life, loved her family dearly, and loved a Jack Daniel’s on the rocks at 5pm. Lee was an avid Brave’s fan watching the games on TV wearing her Brave’s hat. She played many bridge games at Ansley Golf Club with the Fine Arts Club, and loved to win. She was a member of Eastern Star. She loved to travel and one of her favorite trips was at age 85 to see the great Capitals of Europe. Her last trip was flying to Hawaii by herself at age 90 to see her sister, Isabelle Browning. One of her favorite things was to spend time at the family mountain home in Clayton, GA. She is survived by her son Warren H Williams and her son-in-law Kenneth Baggs, nieces Joyce Edwards, Honolulu, HI, Haunani Oness, Kailua, HI, Debbie Tinloy, Napa, CA, Inez Hooks, Swainsboro, GA, Lynn Keys, Marietta, GA, nephews Robert Herndon, McCrae, GA, Jack O’Boyle, Littleton, CA, Mike O’Boyle, Madera, CA, Bill Herndon, Valdosta, GA and numerous great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Patterson’s, Oglethorpe Hill Chapel on Tuesday, May 27 at 3 o’clock with Rev. Dr. Beth Larocca-Pitts officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
