Marianne F. Munzel

Marianne Munzel, a resident of Atlanta, Georgia from 1972 - 1992, and of South Bend / Notre Dame, Indiana for the past 23 years, passed on to eternal life peacefully at home on Sunday, August 16, 2015. Born in Leipzig, Germany on October 4, 1925 to the late Wilhelm and Elise (Putz) Feig, she married Ernst Joachim Munzel on December 23, 1948 in Leipzig. Her husband preceded her in death on May 4, 1977. She is survived by her daughter, Felicitas Munzel, of South Bend / Notre Dame.

In 1951 Marianne and Ernst emigrated to Canada and then to the United States in 1968. They lived in Seattle, WA, Chicago, IL, and Atlanta, GA. In Atlanta, Marianne worked in sales for Singer Sewing Machines until she retired in 1992.

Funeral services for Marianne will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Peachtree Road Lutheran Church, 3686 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, Georgia. Beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday friends may visit with the family at the church prior to the services which will be held at 2:00 p.m. Graveside services and burial will follow in Arlington Memorial Park and all are invited to a reception at the church following the services at Arlington.

Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, South Bend, and H. M. Patterson and Son Oglethorpe Hill Funeral Home are assisting the family with arrangements.
