Marjorie Sherard Cook, born December 9, 1920 in Hartford, CT and Died in Atlanta, GA on February 4, 2016. Marjorie grew up in Hartford, CT. After high school, she worked for Travelers Insurance in Hartford, and then became a nurse cadet. After becoming a Registered Nurse, she transferred to Atlanta, where she worked at Lawson General Hospital in Chamblee. There she met an ambulance driver, Ray T. Cook, who became her husband on April 17, 1949. Marjorie worked at the General Motors plant in Doraville in the medical department for 18 years. The Cooks lived in Brookhaven where they raised their family and were active in church and community. She is survived by daughter Linda Turner of Roswell, son David of Brookhaven, daughter Nancy Barnes of Tucker, and two grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Heart Assn. A graveside service will be held Sunday, February 7 at 2 o’clock at Arlington Memorial Park.
