Mary Ann T. Jones

Jones, Mary Ann Thaxton passed away peacefully on March 8, 2013, at the age of 93. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Patrick and Judith Jones, grandchildren Alexander and Gabriela, and son and daughter-in-law Donal and Jean Jones. She was preceded in death by 32 years by her loving husband, Willard A. Jones. After graduating from Saint Joseph's School of Nursing summa cum laude in 1940, Mary Ann rose to the position of nursing supervisor at Saint Joseph's Infirmary, and later enjoyed her role as company clinic nurse for BellSouth, from which she retired in 1987 after twenty-two years. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren and loved to read fiction and grow flowers. The family is grateful to the staff of Arbor Terrace of Tucker Assisted Living for the care and affection they gave Mary Ann over the past three years. The family will receive friends Friday, March 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, March 16, at 12 p.m. at H. M. Patterson & Son Spring Hill Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel with the The Rev. Canon Louis C. Schueddig officiating. Interment will be at Westview Cemetery immediately following services.
