Mary Jane Boley

Mary Jane Bynum Boley age 63, of Atlanta passed away July 2, 2014 after a courageous 4 ½ year battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Galveston, Texas to Dr. G.A. Bynum and Marion Mead Bynum. She grew up in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and went on to attend Mississippi College and graduate from The University of Southern Mississippi with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education. While at The University of Southern Mississippi she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. Mary Jane continued to purse her passion for teaching by attending The University of Georgia where she graduated with a Master’s in Education Reading. Mary Jane was an active member of the Junior League of Atlanta and a loyal member of the Atlanta Chi Omega Alumni Association. Mary Jane is survived by her husband of 38 years, Bertram S. Boley Jr., daughter, Jenny Mead Reed of Atlanta, Georgia, son, Dr. B. Bynum Boley of Athens, Georgia, grandchild, Sidney Zemp Boley, daughter-in-law, Katherine Bell Boley, son-in-law, Jordan Reed, brother, Dr. Gus A. Bynum of Georgetown, Kentucky, nephew Benjamin Coke Bynum and niece, Anna Ames Bynum. She was an exceptionally loving mother, grandmother and devoted wife whose faith, energy and zest for life was inspirational to her husband, children and anyone who met her. Mary Jane will be sorely missed by her family and a wide circle of friends whose lives she has brightened over many years.
