Merritt and Mary lived next door to us in  Florida. They were such sweet neighbors. One time they were going on vacation and gave us the key to their apartment so we could watch color TV! We have thought of them for years. Eileen and Lynn Humphrey

My Beautiful Aunt Mary, Cousins Chris & Kelly and the Beloved Grandchildren. I know how much my Uncle Merritt loved & adored his Family. As your lives go on, all of you will have such beautiful memories of him to share.

Living next door to Merritt and Mary for over 20 years has been one of the greatest joys and privileges of our lives... it was always comforting to know Merritt was there, ready and willing to help with anything (except snakes :)). We always felt like their family was our family, and vice versa. Merritt and Mary were the first ones outside of immediate family to meet our (newly adopted) children, and were like loving grandparents to them.  We will always cherish our memories of Merritt, and look forward to the day when we will see him again (and get some more strawberry jam, pickles, key lime pie and cheese straws!!)...all our love, Lee Ann, Jae, Charlotte and Philip...

Mary, I am so sorry to read this sad news.  There are lots of fond memories from my time in Atlanta with Merritt and the Atlanta team.  I still display a picture of Merritt with Theron Sapp and me, at my first Masters.

Having only known Merritt and Mary for a brief period of time, I know that my life has been blessed by the experience.  I fell in love with both of them on the first day I met them.  I will miss Merritt's warm smile and loving nature.  I hope the family finds comfort in knowing how much Merritt was loved.

This is Laurie Brown Taylor, daughter of Ron and Peggy Brown. I wanted to offer my condolences to you and your family over the loss of Mr. Causey. I always loved your family and have a special memory of the time you opened your home to us when Dad, Mom, Todd and I came out to LA for the UGA Sugar Bowl back in 1976 in New Orleans. I also have fond memories of Kelly's beautiful wedding in Macon and how my 17 month old daughter, Macy, tried to steal the dancefloor...
it has been very hard for my Mom and Dad to lose their closest friends in life, but remember we will  be together again in God's great Kingdom very soon. Mr. Causey was a truly wonderful man.

There are so many stories and laughs that it would take a book to relate the details. Everyone who worked for Merritt knew they had to get the details right because Merritt was a detail person. One of the memories I recall best was Merritt renting a house in Augusta and starting our long run of customer entertainment bringing in customers to watch the pro golfers at the Masters.
Merritt stands out in my memory as a person who always looked out for his friends, guarded his employees, and cherished his family, especially Mary.

He watched our children grow-up and always made them, and us, feel special.  His love of family was evident in the way he looked at Mary, talked about his children, and beamed ear to ear whenever his grandchildren were around.   He will always be remembered in our hearts, in our prayers, and in our smiles.
