Nancy was born in Buffalo, NY to James and Eleanor Schaller. She lived several years in Buffalo before her family moved to Leesburg, FL. In her 20’s she moved to Atlanta, GA where she met Joe Jones on a blind date. They married a few months later and were fortunate to have 47 years together. Joe and Nancy built a home in Atlanta where they had great neighbors and threw lots of parties. One will always remember the New Year’s Eve Lobster boils! They spent years traveling the world and loved weekends flying hot air balloons. A few years after Joe’s passing, Nancy moved to Lenbrook where she enjoyed every minute of every day. She loved meeting new friends and being around so many friendly Lenbrook associates and residents who were also members of the Dunwoody Hills Garden Club. She always had a very busy social calendar. She often organized dinner parties, happy hours, Sunday nights out at local pizza and burger restaurants, and she was always working a puzzle.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; brother-in-law, Richard Colling; and niece, Carrie Colling Cox.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Jones Clossin and favorite son-in-law, William Clossin of Chattanooga, TN. She was so proud of her grandson, Patrick Clossin and his wife, Olivia Norfleet Clossin of Atlanta. She was fortunate to be able to share in their beautiful wedding which she spoke of often. Nancy is also survived by her sister, Judy Colling, Ellijay, GA and her brother-in-law, W.O.”Bill” Jones (Juanita), Johns Island, SC.
A reception celebrating Nancy’s wonderful life will be held at Lenbrook on Friday, November 29th from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. A private service will be held at another time.
